EXPERIENCE
Nicolás Suárez Pástor
Based in Quito, Ecuador
After earning my law degree and working on human rights issues in Ecuador, Bolivia, and Washington, DC, I transitioned into communication and audiovisual storytelling.
I served as a producer for international media outlets like AJ+, focusing on social justice, human rights, and environmental storytelling, and later as a consultant for Human Rights Watch, where I produced impactful multimedia content on these topics.
My trajectory inspired me to move to Berlin and complete a Master of Arts in Documentary and Factual Filmmaking at MetFilm Berlin, where I directed, produced, filmed, and edited a variety of short documentaries exploring themes like mobility, environmental justice, and systemic violence.
Since then, I’ve collaborated with multiple United Nations agencies, including the PNUD, ACNUR, and PMA, to create storytelling projects that highlight the resilience of marginalized communities and the urgent need for environmental conservation.
Today, my work continues to bridge human rights and storytelling, using film and communication as tools to foster understanding, justice, and change.
